Aye, the second one rather disapointed me, The first 50 mins was rather crap, liked the last 20 mins tho Smile

Aye, the new one seems kinda gay... i dont like him atall ... but may aswell give him a chance... he will never be as good as tennant tho, he needs to be differant from tennants doctor, needs to make it his own ... he will be crap if he tries to act like tennant...

It seems to me that Tennant's personality somewhat resembled Eccleston. I actually enjoyed Tennant more than Eccleston becuase he still had some what of Eccleston's personaltiy but was more humorous. It's possible Matt Smith will be similar to Tennant's Doctor but will have something new to his character.

Still think it was rather stupid letting him regenerate alone like that, they should have made his last moments more special with all his previous companions involved not just cameo appearances.

Well, guess she was a timelord aswell, and they wanted to kill the doctor as he ended the timewar, killed both daleks and timelords... But, That President Timelord guy could have killed him before he had a chance to regenerate thus hes completely dead... no chance of coming back... I liked it how the master sacrificed his life to save the doctor tho, that was kinda cool, seeing as they are Arch-Enemys ... Will not be the last of him tho, he always finds a way back...

He was there cause, well, if you remember the end of the Torchwood Series - Children of Earth ... he said he has had enough of this life and zapped himself up into space... That guy standing next to him in the bar 'Allonso' was in the christmas special 2 years ago (Voyage of The Damned) ... He was The Co-Pilot of the Titanic Smile

Think if you go back in history, the Dr and the Master were closer than just friends, their mams were the women hiding their faces in shame, seen the mama wayyy back early dr, the chief time lord back then resembled ming the merciless lol. I am not even sure when the timelords went a bit on the naughty side, but I seem to recall it being borderline colour at the time.... years ago, but the Dr was something special linked to the Master I just forgot now what.

aye, there was a scene that explained it, altho it is not on youtube, the doctor explained that the master and him were friends at one point but it is believed that The Master went crazy at the age of 8 when he looked in the untempered schisim on Galifrey ... A gap in the fabric of space, You can see into the raw power of the time vortex itself... ( I know too much about this crap lol ) Anyway, It was said that looking into the time vortex some would be Inspired, Some would go Mad, and Some would Run Away...

The Doctor explains some of the Master's past: that as a child, the Master looked into the Time Vortex, and was likely driven mad as a result.

But i just love scenes with the Master ... especially as John Simm, hes a great Master...

This Is One of my favourite scenes involving The Master

May be not he good thread but...

The lot of you being Dr Who experts and all, would you mind if sometime in the future I ask your help to write a scenario for Dr Who RPG for my club ? I've a hard time finding the right angle for anything. Players are likely to be a mixed lot with a majority ignorant of the doctor.

Just had the chance to check out those trailers.

My, my arn't they all young and pretty things; maybe I'm ctaching up on my age but it seems aimed at the teenagers now. In fact it reminded me of Twilight, etc.

Also what is The Dr. doing firing a gun!

'To all things there is a season' as the saying goes.

18:20 this saturdaay Smile

Find it funny reading comments on youtube videos, everyone is saying he wont be as good.

After each regeneration people say the exact same thing, "Oh, this new doctor wont be as good" after a few episodes "OMG, Best Doctor Ever"

Well, just finished watching the first episode.

For me the jury is still out.
Nearly gave up after the first 10 minutes; glad I did not though.
Certainly better than the trailer; thank God.
Smith is no Eccleston or Tarrant though.
Good thing I also enjoy the Harry Potter films.
Like the idea of the TARDIS having a larger control room and it's general design, but the console is tacky and the central feature decidedly phallic!
The new companion has potential, but I like red heads; I married one. Smile

Certainly will be watching the next few episodes at least.

hehe ya, the first part was definately odd... but i liked it Smile seems to me that he resembles ecclestons doctor a little with the funny and clever but at the same time has a bit of tennants doc...

but its still early in the series to judge him yet... was within the first few hours of his regeneration so he was bound to be bonkers... alot of strange things can happen in this period... and Moffat is such an amazing writer, i look forward to more episodes written by him Smile

Hmpf :( I was actually starting to like him... According to the sun, Matt Smith will ditch Doctor Who at the end of his second series for a movie career... but its The Sun, so they've probably made it up haha Smile
