| 1) "I am ms not mrs." ... is she married or not ? Ms suggests to me divorced, miss would be unmarried, mrs is married or widowed. Regardless, Ms suggests availability 2) "You are so on the mark." Means 'spot on' in other words, you are absolutely right. hope this helps. Sounds like you are what we would call 'on the pull' . Sounds like it's going well too | |

| well ... on the pull ... **shrugs** ... facebook/internet thingy ... by accident I ran into the name of a decades ago girlfriend, who moved back to lagos/nigeria with her parents about 40 years ago. some cautious mails changed to verify identity, recognized meanwhile, and now ... we will see ... just glad to be in contact again ...
and another question ... is there a certain type of dictionaries explaining/ hinting to meanings of certain phrases, that dont unfold by translating the pure words ?
i.e. google tranlation: "on the mark" --> "auf die marke" --> retranslated: on the brand ... **shrugs** if you get what I mean ... **shrugs**
or
"on the pull" --> "auf das Pull-" --> retranslation not possible, as Pull- is not a german word ... ;-) ...
ouh ... and thx for the quick responses ... ;-) ...

| ooh grats on the meeting of an old friend. Hmmm, we do have a thing called a thesaurus, not a dinosaur as it might sound, but its kinda like a dictionary but with much broader terms etc, although stuff like on the mark and on the pull are more slang terms so that likely wouldn't help. this may be worth bookmarking for you, it seems fairly comprehensive (on the pull is in it ). Some quite funny common sayings there too. The website seems to cover my own vocabulary quite completely. http://www.peevish.co.uk/slang/index.htmalso if you type the phrase you are unsure of into google, followed by 'english slang' it may work too.

| oh, and if she tells you she is head of a Nigerian bank under siege by rebels and wants your account details to transfer the countrys bullion reserve, for which you will recieve 25%, don't believe her.
I happen to know the real bank manager, Mr Charles Nbogo because he already wrote to me several times.

Oh, so he isnt Mr Nikiema Abdul??? I think he took over from Mr Abdul after the first rebellion. (The one where Mr Abduls family were being held captive with him. I can only assume that the Rebels shot Mr Abdul after catching him using the internet to get help saving the national gold reserve).

| A little late.
1) If used by the lady herself indicates the desire to be recognised as an individual as oppose to an extension of a male partner.
2) On the mark means you have got it right or 'spot on' or insightfulness as to a motivation. |
