finally got dl all the new stuff, and happily entered vg and met heth ( hey heth *waves*).
had just asked her interesting questions about the new solodungeon, when my cpu alarm goes off and tells me the bloody thing is overheating ( no im not overclocked, dont have the brains for that lol).
i can stay online for a long time doing mail and writing mail, surfing etc. np, but about 15 minutes of game time, overloads the damn thing =( not sure why? can it be grafixcard? fan?
gonna get a hold of maself at some point and open puter up and try to fiddle with the fans, to see if its cleaning/tweaking/replacement needed=(, hten hopfully i can play again.
was kinda looking forward to seeing all u guys again, and doing stuff but alass, while im busy making plans for my tired arms (its not because im so elated i cant get them down lol, ive been washing down walls, and im not done yet , not very happymaking if u ask me ), life kinda hit me, so ull see me when ull see me.but hopefully itll be sooner rather than later

Nan, first off, get a soft make up brush and clean out all the fans and heat sink. Hopefully it may be dust thats gathered whilst all your house work has been done. Then run it with the side off so you can see that all the fans are working.

If that fails, hopefully Murg can pop by on here and suggest where to go from there.

Meal grids on the side, heat sinks, I fkn hate them lol I worked for sony and had to install them and they are metal scraping on metal...... arf drove me mental.

Clean it all really sounds like your over heating and it will go boom bang pop if you dont :P not good. Had the same prob when we did the house, bet half of it ended up neetly over everything inside, taken out is best way though with the level of dust you have had, internally I brush all my bits with my makeup brush, awsome and fluffy and huge so it works wonders

yes, clean it clean it all... the motherboard in my old one died cause there was too much dust

uhm i dont think i have ever seen a puter THAT dirty inside. it was almost sufforcating in dust in the fans and everywhere.
running a few temperature/gaming tests and then we will have to see if i can log into vg *crosses fingers&toes*

Lol Nand bet it was haha, but Im rich with the help lol I turfed out billions of cat hair out of mine, that stuff is terrible, not to mention the ash, the dust, and grit, I mean where does the grit come from.

The keyboard is a health hazard, ash, dust, crumbs, a mouse could live on my desk for a year and be happy

had overheating cpu recently ... happened due to the direct fan over the cpu was lose, which again might have happened by cleaning to heavily ...
gonna use air to clean fans in future ... ;-) ...

#1 - Check the BIOS and see if the CPU voltage is set to auto or set too high and adjust the CPU voltage to the correct voltage. You can go here and find out the correct voltage for your processor

After it displays the results then click on "View Results" Then that next screen will show you the correct CPU voltage

#2 - Check your CPU heatsink and make sure it is clean and that the fan is turning at a fast rate of speed. You can download Everest Ultimate which will tell you the speed of your CPU fan

When cleaning your heatsink hold the fan blades and do not allow them to free spin when blowing the heatsink out with canned air, that will damage the fan bearings.

#3 - Case airflow - Your case should have a fan at the front sucking air into the computer case, there should also be a fan at the back blowing air out. It is the best if the front fan is down low in the front of the case. Best position for the output fans in the rear of the case is up as high as possible. Also make sure that the wiring in your computer is not impeding the airflow, if it is then adjust your cables.
Generally, more & the bigger the fans the better. Personally I have experienced a 26°C drop in CPU temperatures just by getting a decent case with a screened front end and decent intake and exhaust fans.

#4 - Thermal Paste, it does break down over time & the most common problem is the application process and either applying too much or too little
There should be a glob of thermal paste about the size of one grain of big rice (half of a pea) put right in the center of the CPU, then let the heatsink squish it out.
Paste should be of good quality, not the white stuff unless you are planning on taking it off again very soon.

#5 - Disable Q Fan and or Cool and quiet (For Asus boards) This tip is in case you are having overheating issues, turning those things off will make your fans run at peak performance and that will tell you if the program is throttling the fans too much

#6 - If none of the above things work then turn the voltage for the CPU down below your normal CPU voltage and see if it will boot. If it does boot then chances are you have a problem with the voltage regulators on the motherboard and it needs to be returned or fixed.

#7 - The general consensus is that the stock CPU heatsink and fans that came with your AMD processor is not quite up to the job if you use your system fairly hard.
There are many heatsinks out there that are relatively inexpensive and work very well.

#8 - Low quality power supplies will also cause overheating of the CPU. They do not provide stable power to the CPU which will cause it to overheat, the power supply is the most important part of your system, you will never go wrong by spending a few extra quid on a good quality power supply.

Not sounding good nandy :( When you open the side of the case there should be a black fan sitting ontop of an aluminium finned block. ( like moonies first image ).Now With the side of the case off, start the computer up and check that all the fans are running ok. Also if you know of a friend close by that has a compressor ask them to blow out the computer fans and also the power supply as it can get very dust. If You cant get a compressor, you can buy compressed air in a can, which is handy. Is there any way you can take a few photos of the inside of the case? around the cpu and fans ? Its just a pitty your not a bus ride away id have had a look. Buy if you want i can remote connect to your computer and take a look at a few things...Only reason i ask to do this is so i can see what system you have so i can run a few tests .

well it runs, and its clean lol, but only for a while then temp goes up agian =/. monitoring fans and temp about every 15 min, just so i wont kill any of the parts.
gonna check out the stuff maltie and murg says tomorrow, cause im realy tired atm =).
after the cleaning i seem able to play for a ocuple of hours ( as opposed to 15 minb4 cleaning.)
