| Well, demoing FFXIV really brought home just how much I needed to upgrade. (It was moonies old one). So I've bitten the bullet and raided my savings (With the crappy interest rates it's not like I'm losing interest.) Here's the bits that should be arriving tomorrow. I decided to go with the i7 950 chip as the i7's have really come down since last year, so thought I'd be experimental. Intel Core i7 950 3.06Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) Processor Asus GTX 460 ENGTX460 1GB DIRECTCU/2DI/1GD5 Voltage Tweak Edition Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard Seagate Barracuda ST31000528AS 1TB 3.5" SATA II Hard Drive Zalman GS1000-SE Special Edition Gaming Case (Black) Sony AD-5260S-0B 24x Internal DVD±R/RW Drive - Black Patriot Viper Extreme Performance 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit (Already have a Corsair 750w PSU) Will be running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I got the same case as Moonie got last year as I like it a lot, plus if I screw up the build I can just swap drives and pretend hers has gone wrong | |

| Aye, I'm hoping that by splashing out a bit now it'll last at least a few years. I've always sort of cobbled my comps together out of odds and ends second hand, so will be a nice change tbh. I'm quite surprised actually, the overall cost is 15 quid less than Moonies quad core build last year. With the release of the i7 950 chip (which is now half the price of what it was a month ago), and the Nvidia gtx 460, both kind of giving decent spec for less cost, along with the special edition motherboard, it was only a couple of hundred quid more than it would have cost to copy Moonies 775 socket set up. I just couldn't resist it. | |

| You have to be careful shad. You have to say that the new machine isn't that good and you have problems with it or moony will start to take over your pc. Just like how I stole my wives monitor that came with her new pc, I said it was not a good one and she could have mine instead. | |

| Cheers Murg, I actually went to Aria for the bits, ordered 4.30pm thurs and arrived midday fri. Pretty good prices too, I checked around quite a bit. I only found them by chance as I wanted the same case that you recommended for Tan. They had the SE version (Same but matt finish) for 85 quid inc Vat. Very impressed with them, they rang me 15 mins after I placed the order to confirm and also after delivery to check all was recieved in good condition. Seem very decent guys indeed. Even got a free gift as a ty. We both have win7 16 bit installed now thx mate (You already sent it awhile back). Both machines are blazing fast now too, it speeded Tans up no end. Was actually gonna check the build with you before ordering, but got overexcited and couldn't wait Very happy with it though. | |

Bit of luck It'll keep us all busy through winter if not longer if its a sucess. | |
