A handy, concise char overview to help choosing starting out classes.

Just wondering exactly who's planning on playing the full release and any plans re Char/trade etc.

Here's me (I think, still a little undecided).

Charlie Foxtrott

Highlander Marauder (Big Axe, subtlety was never my strong point).

Fisherman/Culinarian (May take a secondary harvest and craft skill depending how time consuming it is).

HAHA, yea. I'd considered carpenter but couldn't figure out how to afford to get started. Soooooo, since I like fishing a lot I figured may as well go cooking to use the fish I catch.

under leatherworker it says

" Perhaps a leatherworker’s most arduous and time–consuming task is procuring the various coats and furs necessary for his trade, which is the reason why many who choose this profession tend to dabble in hunting and trapping as well."

I wonder if we have another harvest skill not announced yet, there are also musketeers and assassins guilds ingame

I will start with thaumaturge, I quite like goldsmith and culinary and am interested to see what alchemy has to offer and I'll take mining, botany and fishing to go with the craft classes. Will be slow going with all those but variety is the spice of life, I loved having the ability to switch out DOH or DoL and go do something different for a bit.

yea, I actually quite fancied Leatherworker too, lol too many choices. Selling raw hides though is a viable by product of hunting unless we have a guild leatherworker that can use them.

Speaking of Guild, is there a guild system ingame, didn't see it in Beta?

Doesn't have guilds but there are linkshells , which connect you to groups like guilds ,with either lots of people for grouping and such or just a few close friends the big difference is you can be joined to more then one at a time

Ahh right, so everyone running around with those little insignias were connected via the same Linkshell.

I wondered what they were.

Yes Pred the beta did warn of that, only a small % was allocated for testing, should be ok on release, plus there should be 40 day or what not trials I would think.

Heth the alchemy is great I love it! I'll probably go alchemy and culinery that's cool to.... in alchemy you make the components that other classes need along with aids, but did not get to deep, but it was enjoyable until I purchased the three squirrel furs for 16k then found no shop would buy them for more than 4 lol! Never did see a squirrel :P got murdered by a doormouse though lol

I thought alchemy might be good ,I only got a quick look at it but was intrigued ,so another to add to my ever growing craft list /d'oh

on another note I did not have any slow down when in combat worked lovely for me once I got the mouse patch so I doubt there will be any of that after release, altho I did have afew CTD which was frustrating but again it was beta so to be expected

Yea extra toons cos a couple dollars, but pointless having them really as you can do everything you want on one toon. All it really means is that if you piss people off theres no alt to hide on LOL. Worth bearing in mind though that if you call yourself Arseface Knobjockey (or Woodey Hardwood), you're stuck with it and will always be known thus.

I checked out the Retainers in Beta, you pay for them with ingame cash, like an employee. The cost was 500 per day and they can hold stuff for you and sell for you so pretty useful. You can get a stall in the market district and set your retainer at it like a shopkeeper. Again I can't see that you'd need more than one retainer, (No rl cost), I put everything I had on mine, which was a lot of stuff apart from the gear I was wearing and he showed no sign of being full. The retainer can store stuff and sell stuff at the same time too. He's kind of like a bank that sells any stuff you don't want.
