Did get a nice present actually. Dad decided it was time I got a new camera (since I'd had my current one about 12 years and it was second hand even then...) so I've gotta new shiny Canon EOS 5. I assume that's good? because I really have no idea, heh. Got to figure out how the thing works but doesn't seem too different to my old one.

Nice gift. A good way to figure it out is take a whole crap load of photos at different settings and see what ones turn out better. Maybe show some here so we can see your neighborhood.

I might take a few pictures with this new camera this weekend. But two problems: I've never had any luck getting pictures/screens to post up here and I can't think of anything in my town even remotely photographable, heh.

Now, with xmas coming up, you can tap dad for a nice lens or two ;-), although your old ones will already fit I guess if it was a Canon. So very, very pleased for you.

Can't wait to see some pics, easiest way i find is to open a flickr account (see my siggy), they have a free option so doesnt have to cost. Sharing is dead easy with that, just press share and then choose the size, then copy and paste the code. Hurrah !!

You dont have to love the vue to have awsome pics
just interesting things.......... water drops, reflections,
christmas decorations, with reflections on a wet surface in the dark... while standing on your head clutching an orange, well actually that last bit is stupid, but light reflections
are awsome, you have a dog can try to nail it to the floor for some shots, or even wet nose shots as it peers in your lense, a desk lots of funky stuff on desks.

Halloween comming up you must have one creapy old lady hanging around the neighbourhood :P
