a secret has been lifted, it's out now: Bioware & LucasArts are working on a
MMO to follow the KOTOR-line: "Starwars - The Old Republik" they called it

as this amongst friends always has been quite anticipated, I start with a double
post to have a bit of place to gather some interesting links here and there

Sounds interesting, but if - at any time - SOE steps in and has anything to do with this one i'll rip George a new one.

I think the key here is seeing what direction the game takes, currently PvP is in vogue... I hope still for a day where a game comes out that satisfies all niches... can it REALLY be that hard?

i mean star wars, so plenty of story

pve and pvp mix needed in a well thought out way.

decent fluff ala UO

and a decent world ala saga of ryzom

And no Soe involved... how hard can it be?

And no fu*king capture-the-shit-instances.
That's what i find most annoying in WAR. Barely open skirmishes, but people are just grinding points in instances. DEATH TO INSTANCES! That's what Guild Wars is for.

I doubt another SWG pre-CU will come out though. The resturns on duch a product are just too small in the modern game industry I expect a Jedi vs Sith PvP game with lots of singleplayer RP content.
