| Ok found a bit of a bug bear with skype so if you use it at all do a search for skypenames.exe there are thousands of complaints about it, check in your task manager as well, sit there and study it for a bit if you have skypee .... ok whats the big deal? 80% cpu usage in intermittent bursts, it goes from 0% - 80%, I had a blue screen of death even with new ram in, and thaught , so shad suggested looking at task manager, I had photoshop, vue and poser all running and illustrator, so the machine was just happy like that, then booom blue screen, so while we were watching up poped skypenames.exe and it shot to 80% cpu again, so i trolled the net for an answer... First kill the process from task manager, do a search on Skypenames.exe, locate the folder inside windows and kill it permanant, dam thing. I sent in a report telling Skype to shove thier service where the sun dont shine until they fix it. It spikes even when you are not on skype or even using it, it self opens ever few mins slowing internet speed down, glitching out games and a few other bits. Maltie had it to :P | |

| aye, be sure to end the process from task manager before you try to delete it, it gets angry otherwise ...
also, go into control panel, then programs and features (Windows 7 name for it, will prob be differant for vista and xp) then uninstall Skype Web Features... should put cpu usage back to how it should be ... guess those two things were conflicting against eachother thus causing the probs... | |
