Tried World Of Warplanes and really didn't like it. Just a gank fest at high speed. Rinse and repeat...

So I then tried War Thunder, much more depth, better aircraft, bigger maps giving much more time. They're supposedly aiming to add tanks and ships eventually, all within the same maps rather than splitting them up.

Free to play so worth a go. It's tricky at first and quite complex, but I like that. Plus you can land, repair and refuel etc before rejoining the fight.

Similar setup to WOT with 30 day premium option and premium planes etc.

I play this one. It is fun but hard to figure the research page. I assume you use your usual name.

Hi Fred,

Names were gone so I used Lucifax. Should be on some tomorrow.

I stopped dieing so much, I think trick is to climb to 3,000 feet and not rush into a mass battle, then swoop down on them and use the momentum to get some shots off before regaining the height. The battles seem a lot less frantic than the other game.

Tier 6 so far RAF, up to the Spitfire MK 2 and a Beaufighter mK 5 and bought myself a tier 10 Typhoon which I think has helped a lot grinding the levels as it gives higher xp and silver. It came with 2 weeks premium and enough gold to sub for a month on top of that so wasn't a bad deal at about $25

Yes the credit and gold system is not as bad as wot, a little goes a long ways. I like it more then the other plane games and the graphic are really nice. Still trying to figure out the weapon modifications though. Ghil says it might be too fast for him but I say he could always just land his plane in a bush and wait.

LOL yes he could!

Funny thing though, it doesn't seem that fast or frantic and it's pretty easy to avoid combat until you're ready. Especially in a bomber, he could just fly a heavy bomber, bomb from high altitude and let his gunners deal with any fighters. We could even be his fighter escort and protect him like we do in tanks
Heth

He dies so fast anyway, most of his game would be spent chilling out on his way to the target.

also the upcoming tanks are looking pretty sweet:

I'm gonna give it a try, but....  now I have finally got my tier 10 brittish TD... but it's a very tricky tank to drive.  Reload is 30 sec.... and it's armor is kind of crappy... but when you fire that 1700+ gun ... I can't stop smiling Smile  Just imagine the pure joy of turning a T57, or IS7 into a ball of flames in one shoot... pure extacy Wink

I'll download. Will see if I can get a chance to play with you guys outside of my very busy schedule.

Currently raiding 6 days a week, Working on getting everyone geared before the next tire raids are released next month. We still haven't even started on Endless Eclipse. Well, Except tonight, we did the mini event at the start, but the first boss went terribly.

"QUICK, EVERYONE SWITCH TO AREBUS AND TAKE DOWN HIS SHIELD" No-one does, He finishes his cast and raid is killed instantly.

Promoted 2 new officers today, After weeks of trying to find people I found suitable. The majority of this guild are incapable of any form of leadership. So hopefully now I can relax a little and not have everyone constant whispering me crying about something they don't like.

Even found myself logging onto TeamSpeak whilst at work, on the mobile app. Got some weird looks whilst discussion healer setups for the second boss in Frozen Tempest, Zaviel.

Well, today I made the mistake of buying myself a joystick, to see if Warthunder would be any better...
BIG mistake... it's fucking impossible to even fly straight with the damn joystick... 40£ in the garbage can...
Back to mouseaim again.

I did get my BF109e though... thats a good plane!

Grats on the 109....

You must have some setting wrong on either the joystick or ingame. It sounds like it's not auto-centering. I read someting about arcade mode being easier with a mouse, maybe try another mode with realism settings changed from mouse?

Well, I installed the joystick, ran the Control-wizard in the game.  You can't use mouseaim with joystick, so all you can choose is simple mode or advanced mode.  The problem is not so much flying really... I can fly around with the joystick.  I could even hit a target on the ground.  But try hit a moving tarhet... it's not doable Smile

One of the problems is that simple or advance mode don't behave at all like mouseaim.  In mouseaim your plane turns when you turn it, but the World stays the same.  In the other two modes the World turns with the plane and makes Everything much more complicated, although maybe more realistic of course.  But like I said, trying to hit a target that is hard enough with mouseaim is near impossible.

But I will of course let you throw your own cash in the garbage can Smile But I'm Confident that you will find it very, very difficult using a joystick.
