(Last year's winning image by Gelmi)
**Update: The winner will also recieve an ATI FirePro 3750 graphics card with dual DVI output for driving two monitors thanks to our friends at AMD**
Each year, Luxology invites it's community to contribute images in a contest designed to come up with the best holiday-themed image. You can use modo, or DS PhotoView 360 or Bentley Systems MicroStation. You can use other products like ZBrush too, just note the other products used and make sure the rendering was done in one of the three previous products. One exception: 2D images from imageSynth are fine and need not be "rendered."
Images must be submitted by Dec 15th. That is not far off!
Since this is designed to benefit the community, please submit your image to the Gallery and Work In Progress section of the Luxology forum. Please make sure the word "holiday 2009" is in the thread title. That is the only place we are going to look for images. If there is a story behind the image, please post that. And we love seeing the wires.
As far as guidelines for the type of image...there are not really any rules. Make sure you own all of the IP in the image. And images with a "universal appeal" generally fare the best.
There is just one winner and what does the lucky winner get? Well, mainly props from everyone - plus exposure as an artist to our entire mailing list via our Holiday greeting. And we are going to throw in an upgrade to the next version of modo (if you do not have modo, we'll work something out with equivalent value to you).
The judging will be done by Luxology, though we will be reading the response to images posted on the Forum and factoring that in.
Good luck to all!!
