pc-problems --> vista updater & cpu-temperature

actually having pc-problems with vista-updater & cpu-temperature.
pc cleaned inside, fans, cooler-ribs and surfaces de-dusted ... still
temperature problems at the cpu, not the grafic card, when soft-
ware or games involved that ask for more workpower.

any ideas / suggestions ?

Not a pc doctor or smarter then them but maybe the power supply is failing.

If you use Nvidia drivers and you have recently downloaded an update then do so again.

Apparently Nvidia have re-released the 197.13 drivers as the first release caused problems with the fans on the cards; maybe a knock on effect what you are suffering regarding the temperature.

What type of cpu? what kind of cooler ?

A few little programs to download and check are

A faulty power supply wont cause the cpu to overheat. Give me full details on your system and try those 2 programs also try and do a screen image when the 2 programs are running and post it here.

Thats damn hot for a duo 2 cpu. Is that it running idle? Does it have the stock intel cooler. You could possibly change the cpu cooler and TIM ( thermal paste) Also what make is your case? does it have intake and exhaust fans?

Ive read alot of reviews on the cpu and people dont even hit that temp with an overclocked cpu. Maybe start with replacing the paste or both, tho if you go with that cooler its tricky to install and you have to remove the mobo.

From past experience also i know that Vista can make a system run a little bit hotter , maybe a change to win7 Ultimate at some point. If you need a legit copy just ask.

Just do not not not buy them from Overclockers they are the biggest rip off merchants on the net.
